My work

One morning in 2005 I woke up hungover and ashamed. I had spent yet another evening complaining about my job, and I wasn’t proud of myself.

It was the start of some real soul searching that led to me making the promise to find a vocation that would have me jumping out of bed every morning.

Since then I’ve tried it all… a new approach, new jobs, a new careers, and even a new businesses.

Today I run a branding agency for solopreneurs called FeelGoodAgency, and an online community for people who hate their job called FeelGoodNetwork.

It hasn’t always been plain sailing. But in taking responsibility for my own happiness, I’ve finally found something to jump out of bed for.

If you’re interested in understanding how I got to this point, check out my career history on LinkedIn.

The FeelGoodAgency

Branding for solopreneurs by solopreneurs

As a creative I’ve worked for some amazing agencies and brands. But as a creative solopreneur I realised just how hard it is to run a small business and wear all the hats. After all, I got into business to do the things I’m good at, not all the things I am not.

Recognising that I couldn’t be the only person to have this frustration, I aligned myself with other creative solopreneurs. Each specialists in our field, we collaborate to provide a quality affordable branding service to other solopreneurs.

We work in our zone of genius in order that other solopreneurs might better share their zone of genius. But the best bit is that together we really are making the world a better place.

The FeelGoodNetwork

Your job sucks. But what are you going to do about it?

My career path hasn’t been a conventional one. But despite the variety, I am no stranger to the soul-sucking day job. Initially I thought there was no way out, but eventually I found one.

It started with doing something – anything! – to feel good about my work. I changed projects. I changed specialties. I changed job. I changed careers. I set up my own business. I reinvented my business.

And eventually it ended up with me running a business where I get to do what I love for people I love.

FeelGoodNetwork is my attempt to help others learn from my journey. So that maybe it doesn’t have to be so hard. So that maybe they don’t need to make my mistakes.

I work with others who have had – or are going through – similar experiences, to provide tips, ideas and inspiration to beat the workplace blues.
